Team of the Decade: Johan Svantesson

Johan Svantesson has been selected in MUSC’s men’s team of the decade. Johan was our Senior Men’s Top Goalscorer in 2016.

Johan Svantesson came to the club in season 2016 as an international student and impressed heavily in the trials that he was brought straight into the senior squad.

Johan came from a professional background having played his football in the Swedish 3rd Division. In season 2010-2011 he scored 36 goals in 42 games and was then signed as a professional for Gefle in the 1st Division. I would say one of very few players at the club to have had a FIFA Rating.

A strong, hardworking and skilful forward or attacking midfielder who had an eye for goal, Johan played 13 games at the club scoring 6 goals.

We missed him heavily in the 2nd half of the season as Johan played in the Melb Uni varsity team in an international tournament in China.
