Lightning

MUSC adopts the 30-30 Rule:

30 Seconds: When lightning is sighted, count the time until thunder is heard. If that time is 30 seconds or less, the thunderstorm is within 10km and is dangerous. Outdoor activities should be suspended.

30 Minutes: After hearing the last rumble of thunder, wait 30 minutes. Outdoor activities can resume.
