Team of the Decade: Elena Reid

The next member of the Team of the Decade is the delightfully skilful Elena ‘Legs’ Reid.

Legs has been a member of the State 1 Senior Women’s side since 2015 and remains a pivotal player for the squad.

Legs has an outstanding record of achievements at MUSC, having won the FFV State League 1 Best and Fairest in both 2016 and 2017, as well as coming runner up Best and Fairest in both 2018 and 2019. This reflects her ability to play with an entertaining flair, be present in crucial moments in the game and play with an unending level of sportsmanship and heart. She was a crucial member of both the 2017 and 2019 Premiership-winning State 1 Senior women’s teams, underpinning the structure of the team’s attacking play.

Legs brings an incredible drive and positivity to any team she is part of. She perfectly balances intricate skills and decisive finishes with defensive efforts and hard work in the midfield. Many a Sunday afternoon in Princes Park has bared witness to Legs chipping the keeper from outside the box with a lofty finish or dazzling multiple defenders with her agile ball movement. As any person who has trained or played against her can attest, it is unbelievably hard to win the ball off Legs and equally as difficult to get the ball past her.

We hope to see Legs continue to achieve these incredible heights into the next decade with MUSC and congratulate her on the numerous achievements so far.

Welcome to the Team of the Decade Elena ‘Legs’ Reid!
