2021 Rego Fee Refunds

The 2021 season was cancelled due to the pandemic. The club is in a position to give a partial registration fee refund to each 2021 member.

As confirmed at the recent AGM, funds totalling $35,000 will be made available to refund to 2021 members. This includes the team entry fees and player registration fees refunded by Football Victoria as well as funds collected from membership fees budgeted for but not spent on referees and ground hire due to the season cancellation.

330 members are eligible for a partial refund. Regardless of which team they played in (men’s or women’s, FV or VicSoccer or Over 45s), each member will receive a refund of approximately 27% of the membership fee they paid.

As an example, a men’s non-student player who paid $475 will receive $129. This is above the FV-directed refund/credit amount of $38.80 for such a player so satisfies Football Victoria’s refund policy (available on FV’s website).

The club is run by volunteers. It would be overly burdensome on volunteers to manually transfer a customised refund amount to 330 individuals. If it took 5 minutes to collect the bank account details and process a bank transfer for each player, that would result in more than 27 hours of work.

As confirmed at the recent AGM, by default, each member’s refund amount will be rolled over as credit towards their 2022 rego fee.

Members looking to cash out their credit as a refund can request that by 30 November. Club volunteers will process all refund requests as soon as possible after that deadline.

Each 2021 member who paid a registration fee has been emailed a unique link by the club to confirm their details, indicate their current playing intentions for 2022, and select what they would like to do with their 2021 rego credit.

All 2021 members are asked to please complete their form by 30 November. Form links are unique to each member & should not be shared with others.

Based on feedback received from some surveyed members, the following options are available for each player to select from:

OPTION 1 – roll over all their credit to go towards their 2022 rego fee.

OPTION 2 – spend a portion of their credit on a discounted limited edition 75th anniversary shirt, and roll over their remaining credit to go towards their 2022 rego fee.

OPTION 3 – spend a portion of their credit on a discounted limited edition 75th anniversary shirt, and donate their remaining credit to the club.

OPTION 4 – refund the credit to a nominated bank account.

Members can of course request their credit be refunded at a later date if they currently intend to but don’t end up joining the club in 2022.
