Madeleine “Mads” Horey. 30/07/1982- 06/05/2023

Mads joined Melbourne University Women’s Soccer Club in 2001. For 16 years, the club was lucky to have her as a player, coach, board and committee member. In 2015, Mads’ contributions continued with the addition of baby Mila who – just like her mum – was an instant hit at the club.

Mads was awarded a life membership in 2020 in recognition of her immense achievements both on and off the pitch. Her legacy is the kindness, joy and inclusivity that stands out and lives on in our club’s culture. Whether you simply crossed paths with Mads at a club event, or had her as a friend for life, she made sure the club was a home.

Mads was a warm presence with an infectious laugh, generous nature, and a love for all things beer.

MUSC extends our deepest condolences to all those who were lucky enough to know, love and be loved by Mads. Our hearts and thoughts are with the Horey family, including every friend-turned-family member that Mads put her arms around and made her own. Go gently.
